The Trust
set up a Primary School in 2003
in the name of Sankara Matriculation
School in Thandalam village
for imparting education in the backward
and rural areas at an affordable
cost to the underprivileged and
needy. Special efforts are being
made to

Enroll children
whose parents cannot afford
to pay fees charged by nearby
private schools. |

Enroll and
retain the Girl child who many
times is compelled to leave
school at an early age and whose
parents feel insecure in sending
them to far off places for education. |
|
Provide
quality education to the children
in English medium and prepare
them for the future |
|
Provide
opportunities to educated young
men and women within the village
to become teachers and be a
part of the village development
programs. |
|
Provide
opportunities for the children
to be involved in sports, cultural
and other personality building
activities. |
|
The
school which started functioning in
a temporary shed in 2003 has now moved
to a larger building, the funds coming
from the Trustees and a number of
wellwishers and organization committed
to social welfare. Only a part of
the proposed building has been completed
and a major portion needs to be constructed.
Presently the school is operating
upto class 7 and the proposal is to
expand upto class 12 in progressively
each year. For this the building needs
to be completed fully. The Trust has
procured 5 acres of land for implementing
this project. |
